Prophylaxis – professional dental cleaning
Dental prophylaxis is a preventive therapy, which is aimed at avoiding or reducing tooth damage. Through the professional dental cleaning the number of bacteria on the tooth surface can be declined and the surface itself will be smoothed. The teeth get more resident against acids, as from juices, dairy products or sweets.
If a periodontitis is diagnosed, the repetition of prophylaxis helps to protect further gum recession and tooth decay. We can determine for you how often a dental cleaning is necessary using special tests. In any case, it is recommended to repeat the procedure twice a year.
Sedation or anaesthesia – for increased anxiety
Sedation or semi-consciousness is an option to significantly reduce anxiety and put the body in sleep state through drug effects. Together with the local anaesthesia it is possible to perform the procedure easily.
During anaesthesia the sleep state is deeper than in sedation, so it needs to be supervised by our anaesthetist. It is favoured for complex treatments, larger inventions and treatments with dental phobia. Usually, dental phobias need psychotherapeutic pre-treatment.
Preliminary talks and smaller pre-treatments are always necessary before performing anaesthesia or sedation. It is our goal to provide you with a comprehensive care to improve the aesthetic and functional situation of your dentition.

Dentures are in all situations always individual as you can see from single tooth crowns, fixed bridges or removable prostheses. Often, several solutions can be considered.
